Josh Leu

Chief Operating Officer

Josh Leu is the Chief Operating Officer of CIG Energy, bringing over a decade of experience at CIG. He is currently leading project development and execution across the company’s growing renewable energy platform. A founding operator at CIG, Josh has played a central role in advancing the firm’s utility-scale solar portfolio from early-stage development through execution, helping to scale a portfolio of 2 GW and targeting over 5 GW of clean energy capacity.

Throughout his tenure, Josh has established a reputation as a disciplined executor with deep command of the operational lifecycle—from engineering coordination and construction logistics to documentation, lender interfacing, and transaction readiness. He leads the day-to-day advancement of CIG Energy’s solar portfolios, ensuring progress tracking, cross-functional alignment, and capital market engagement remain synchronized at each stage of execution.

With an operator’s mindset and a commitment to delivery, Josh helps bridge internal development efforts with external investor expectations, enabling CIG to move with speed, accuracy, and discipline as it scales its national energy footprint.

Christopher Kane

Chief Investment Officer

Christopher Kane brings over 15 years of experience in strategic acquisitions, renewable energy development, and capital structuring across infrastructure, energy, and real estate sectors. He currently leads capital markets execution at CIG Companies, driving the firm’s innovative debt and equity strategies as it scales toward its multi-GW clean energy platform.

Chris has led more than $8 billion in traditional capital markets activity and over $500 million in behind-the-meter and utility-scale solar project delivery. His experience spans over 6 GW of traditional thermal development, alongside complex projects in transportation, data centers, advanced manufacturing, energy storage, and oil and gas.

Prior to joining CIG, Chris held roles at CBRE, Hannon Armstrong (HASI) / Counterpointe Sustainable Real Estate, the Vela Group, and Regions Bank. In addition to his duties at CIG, he manages an infrastructure and commercial real estate portfolio on behalf of the Kane Family Office.

Dr. Patrick Bisher

Chief Leadership Officer

Dr. Patrick Bisher is a mission-driven executive and leadership architect with a track record spanning military service, corporate strategy, and energy manufacturing innovation. He currently serves as Chief Leadership Officer at CIG Companies, where he drives organizational culture, leadership development, and strategic team execution.

Patrick is a founding force behind US Modules, a next-generation solar manufacturing company launched to accelerate American energy independence and domestic content supply chains. Under his leadership, US Modules is delivering utility-grade solar panels using a fully U.S.-based bill of materials, enabling CIG’s multi-gigawatt solar project pipeline to qualify for Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tax credits while raising the bar on product quality and reliability.

A former U.S. Navy SEAL, Patrick has coached and mentored over 1,000 individuals through elite military and corporate leadership pipelines. He is also the founder of GRIT Academy, a leadership and mentorship platform focused on character, clarity, and culture transformation for teams and executives. He holds a Doctorate in Servant Leadership and is a published author and keynote speaker known for his work on purpose-driven leadership in high-stakes environments.

Dr. B’s influence spans boardrooms, factories, and field teams – blending clarity of mission with executional discipline as CIG scales toward a 5 GW+ clean energy target and U.S.-based vertical integration.

Alfredo Gracian

Deputy General Counsel, CIG Energy

Alfredo Gracian is a seasoned legal executive with more than 20 years of experience leading legal operations in dynamic, multinational businesses in energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and construction. After earning an LL.M. degree from Yale Law School and a JD from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), (Mexico‘s number one university), Alfredo began his career at the leading New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Alfredo has held positions of substantial responsibilities at General Motors, General Electric, and Microsoft. In the course of his work at such leading companies, Alfredo honed his knowledge and expertise in order to assure that the legal function can empower the commercial teams to carry out the company’s business effectively while also managing the attendant legal risks.

Alfredo has deep expertise in renewable energy projects, overseeing complex commercial contracts and disputes, and ensuring regulatory compliance both in the U.S. and internationally. Before joining CIG, Alfredo served as the General Counsel and Secretary for a leading developer of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects in the United States.

Jason George

Chief Structuring Officer, CIG

Jason George serves as Chief Structuring Officer at CIG Companies, LLC, bringing over 20 years of specialized experience in structured finance, public-private partnerships, and complex capital markets instruments.



Throughout his career, Jason has led and advised on a wide range of financings including both rated and unrated transactions for governmental entities, healthcare systems, non-profits, manufacturing operations, LMI-focused developments, and solid waste facilities. He is also well-versed in swap and derivative contracts, bringing a sophisticated understanding of risk transfer and hedging strategies.

Jason has advised clients such as the State of Illinois, where he played a critical role in the unwinding of a high-profile interest rate swap with Lehman Brothers. His institutional clients include PNC Bank, Huntington National Bank, and U.S. Bank, while mission-driven clients include Otterbein Retirement Communities, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, POET, and various YMCAs.

During the 2008 Recovery Act, Jason was one of the nation’s top facilitators of Recovery Zone Bonds, enabling project financing for firms like Gore-Tex, United Dairy Farmers, Olin, and Great Lakes Brewing Company.

He earned a B.A. from DePauw University in 1995 and a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington in 1998. From 2017 to 2023, Jason founded and ran his own law firm, demonstrating a deep commitment to delivering high-touch financial and legal counsel. He has also served as Board Member and Assistant Treasurer for Wexner Heritage Village in Bexley, Ohio.

At CIG, Jason leads financial structuring across SPVs, HoldCo platforms, and hybrid capital stacks to support the company’s fast-moving 20 GW renewable energy pipeline.

John Barry

Managing Director

John Barry is a veteran capital strategist and structured finance executive with over 25 years of experience across infrastructure, renewable energy, and specialty finance. He currently leads project finance and strategic capital initiatives at CIG Energy, supporting the firm’s multi-GW solar development portfolio and complex capital stack formation.

John’s career includes co-development of a $700 million renewable diesel project in Utah and structuring of the largest-ever USDA 9003 Renewable Fuels loan—a $198 million facility that remains unmatched in scale. He has executed over $1 billion in SBA-eligible PPP securitizations and led a $375 million expansion financing for the Morongo Casino through a combination of taxable municipal bonds and private placements.

A serial founder and financial innovator, John previously founded Bonds.com, the first all-to-all fixed income ATS, which he grew into a $150 million publicly traded entity before its acquisition by the London Stock Exchange. He also served as a founding partner of Tribal Capital Markets, where he structured over $30 billion in diversity-mandated transactions. In that role, he pioneered the “IP Notes” asset class, raising $675 million to fund 19 IP-rich technology companies through insurance-wrapped debt instruments.

Across his career, John has underwritten or co-managed over $100 billion in public and private capital markets activity, spanning solar, renewable fuels, anaerobic digesters, and other infrastructure sectors. At CIG Energy, he plays a key leadership role in financial structuring at both the HoldCo and SPV levels, and supports investor-facing execution as the company advances toward its 5 GW+ target.

Shari C. George

Director of Transaction Management

Shari C. George brings a multidisciplinary background in law, real estate, and business leadership to her role as Director of Transaction Management at CIG Energy. She earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University and her Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University.

Shari began her legal career in employment law before expanding into real estate law and title services. As Assistant Vice President at Heartland Title Agency in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, she managed complex real estate transactions and developed deep expertise in transaction management and execution. Her diverse experience enables seamless coordination across legal, operational, and financial workstreams at CIG.

In addition to her professional career, Shari is an active community leader. She serves on the Executive Board of the Bexley Community Foundation, where she chairs the Grants Committee, helping guide impactful local investments. She also brings an entrepreneurial perspective as the co-founder and former owner of Cherbourg Bakery, a successful gluten-free bakery in Bexley, Ohio.

At CIG Energy, Shari supports the company’s mission to scale utility-scale renewable energy development with speed, precision, and executional excellence.

Brett Macune

VP of Capital Markets

Brett Macune is Vice President of Capital Markets at CIG Energy, where he leads project-level debt structuring, lender engagement, and financial execution across the company’s growing utility-scale solar and storage portfolio. A seasoned energy finance professional, Brett brings over 20 years of experience in structured credit, tax equity, and project finance.

Prior to joining CIG, Brett served in senior roles at investment platforms including JPMorgan, EIG Capital, Barings Capital, and Siemens Financial Services.. He has originated, negotiated, and closed over $3 billion in energy transactions across solar, wind, bioenergy, and gas generation systems. His career includes securing large-scale construction financing and navigating multi-party infrastructure deals from term sheet, COD, operations and divestments.

Brett is also a recognized market voice in capital strategy. He maintains strong relationships with institutional investors, lenders, and strategic partners throughout the energy transition ecosystem. His work integrates deep technical acumen with a commercial mindset to deliver bankable solutions that scale.

Brett holds a BBA in Engineering Business from The University of Texas at Austin, minor in Spanish, and an MBA from Yale University School of Management. At CIG, Brett plays a pivotal role in closing high-impact capital transactions and advancing the company’s mission to deploy over 5 GW of domestic clean energy by 2032.

Gary Glass

General Counsel

Gary B. Glass is a seasoned Chief Legal Officer and strategic executive with more than 25 years of experience advising private equity sponsors, founders, and boards in highly regulated and capital-intensive industries. His career spans leadership roles across life safety, healthcare, manufacturing, supply chain logistics, staffing, airlines, luxury real estate, and consumer products, where he has consistently driven enterprise value through disciplined risk management, transaction execution, and operational scale.

Mr. Glass has served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for multiple private equity-backed platforms and family offices, including Elevated Facility Services, HealthChannels, and iGPS Logistics. He also brings significant public-company leadership experience as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of UST Inc. (NYSE: UST), Segment General Counsel for APi Group’s North America Safety business (NYSE: APG), and as a Senior Assistant General Counsl at Altria Group, Inc., a Fortune 25 global enterprise (NYSE: MO). Earlier in his career, Mr. Glass began as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan and later became a litigation partner at Winston & Strawn LLP. Mr. Glass is recognized for building institutional-grade legal and compliance infrastructures that support rapid growth, investor diligence, and public-company readiness —particularly in industries where safety, compliance, and operational precision are critical. Mr. Glass holds an AB in history from Princeton University, where he was the quarterback for the football Tigers, and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law where he was a member of the Deans List and the IP Law Journal.

Aaron Nutt

Director of PV & BESS

Aaron Nutt is an energy storage subject matter expert, U.S. Navy Veteran, strategic leader in clean energy transition. His expertise covers lithium-ion technologies—particularly lithium iron phosphate (LFP)—as well as the evaluation of alternative chemistries and emerging non-lithium storage solutions. Aaron has led utility-scale BESS projects from concept to commissioning, integrating assets with both existing and newly constructed substations while ensuring compliance with rigorous interconnection standards and industry codes.

A seasoned systems architect, Aaron brings hands-on mastery of battery module and enclosure design, DC bus configurations, bidirectional inverter integration, and the automation protocols that safeguard performance and longevity. He has overseen ISO market–participating assets delivering capacity, energy arbitrage, and ancillary services, developing operational programs that align technical excellence with commercial performance.

Aaron’s contract experience spans the full project lifecycle—from RFP response to commissioning—negotiating construction, service, and performance agreements for utilities, developers, and independent power producers. He is well-versed in aligning warranties, performance guarantees, and risk allocation to ensure long-term asset success.

Aaron is driven by a mission: to enable America’s energy transition leadership and global energy independence. Drawing on leadership skills forged in the U.S. Navy, he builds confident, autonomous teams, united by a shared vision. He maintains a strategic understanding of global supply chains, navigating procurement risks, cost trends, and compliance challenges in a rapidly evolving policy and trade environment.

Outside the energy sector, Aaron is a lifelong learner with evolving hobbies and interests. He also enjoys vehicle restoration, cross-country touring, horseback riding, hunting, and outdoor adventure—interests rooted in his early years. Whether in the field, on the track, or in the boardroom, Aaron applies curiosity, discipline, and purpose to every endeavor.

Jaclyn T. Badeau

Chief Financial Officer

Jaclyn T. Badeau (CPA, CGMA, MBA, EQ Certified) is an accomplished finance and people leader with two decades of experience spanning accounting, controllership, finance transformation, and leadership development. As Chief Financial Officer at CIG Companies, Jaclyn provides disciplined financial control and accounting oversight across CIG Companies, while supporting portfolio project financing and capital markets execution. Jaclyn’s role serves as the backbone of day-to-day finance operations and administration.

Prior to joining CIG, Jaclyn founded and led a successful leadership and employee engagement consultancy, advising organizations nationwide on culture, talent development, and strategic growth. Before that, she held multiple finance and leadership roles at a global manufacturing and distribution company, where she led a global internal audit team, served as controller and business risk advisor for $1B in revenue across four legal entities, led a $2B finance integration spanning three states, and managed cross-functional teams through numerous process improvement initiatives.

Jaclyn’s influence extends nationally through her active involvement with the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy, the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and the Kentucky Society of CPAs (KyCPA), where she has served in multiple leadership and advisory capacities.

A CPA and CGMA, Jaclyn also holds an MBA and certifications in Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Facilitation. Her passion for combining financial discipline with human insight has made her a trusted advisor and catalyst for organizational excellence.

Jaclyn is a recipient of the AICPA’s Young CPA Award, the Kentucky CPA Society’s Outstanding Leadership and Service Award, and the Distinguished Alumni Honor from Eastern Kentucky University.

Derek Kremser

SVP of Operations

Derek Kremser is an accomplished energy leader who has guided teams and organizations through the successful development of GW-scale renewable energy portfolios. With a background in engineering, finance, and project execution, he brings a unique blend of strategic vision and technical engineering vigor to accelerate the transition to clean energy.

Derek has a proven record of managing large development pipelines and delivering projects that balances data-driven focus with optimizing commercial value. He has directed multi-GW solar and storage portfolios, managing all phases of development including coordinating large scale land acquisition campaigns, environmental studies, permitting, interconnection, EPC management, and project financing through commercial operations.

Derek has led teams and organizations to consistently deliver market-competitive, commercially optimized renewable energy projects. His accomplishments reflect a deep understanding of grid dynamics, project economics, and the execution discipline required to advance the clean energy transition.

Matt Waronicki

Director of Development

Matt Waronicki is a Director of Development at CIG Energy, leading development and M&A efforts for the company’s growing utility-scale solar and BESS portfolio. He brings over a decade of energy experience, including power marketing and trading, portfolio management, renewables development, and project M&A.

Prior to joining CIG, Matt was the co-founder of ClearSky Energy, a renewables development company focused on utility-scale solar assets in the ERCOT region of Texas. He developed projects from greenfield siting through NTP, and was instrumental in originating IPP buyers for long term ownership.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. His understanding of the ERCOT market and project risk factors helps to ensure CIG adds high-performing, quality assets to its energy portfolio.

John Hunter

Director of Construction

John Hunter is the Director of Construction at CIG Energy, where he leads construction execution across a portfolio of renewable energy projects. 

With more than a decade of experience in the renewable energy industry, he has held progressively senior roles spanning preconstruction, project management, and construction leadership, working closely with EPC partners and internal teams to bring large infrastructure projects in on time and on budget.

A licensed Professional Engineer in Florida with a background in civil and environmental engineering, John combines hands-on technical expertise with strong project leadership skills.

His career spans both utility-scale solar development and heavy civil construction, giving him a broad perspective on delivering complex infrastructure projects from the ground up.

John O’Hair

Senior Director of Development

John O’Hair is a renewable energy development leader with more than a decade of experience delivering utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects across major U.S. power markets. He has a proven record of advancing complex projects from origination and early-stage development through financing, construction, and commercial operation.
 
Throughout his career, John has directed and lead development activities across MISO, TVA, SPP, ERCOT, and PJM. He has helped deliver more than 2 GWs of renewable energy assets to commercial operation and has managed and advanced development pipelines exceeding 5 GWs.
 
His experience spans the full project-development lifecycle, including market and site strategy, land acquisition, interconnection, permitting, community and stakeholder engagement, power purchase agreement negotiations, project financing, and commercial transactions with utilities and commercial and industrial customers.
 
John combines strategic leadership with disciplined execution to navigate complex development challenges and bring high-value energy projects to market.
Eric O’Connor

Associate General Counsel

Eric O’Connor serves as Associate General Counsel at CIG Companies, where he advises CIG Energy and affiliated businesses on transactional, commercial and corporate matters. Working closely with company leadership and cross-functional teams, Eric helps structure and execute strategic transactions, negotiate critical project and commercial agreements, and translate legal and business risk into practical solutions that support the company’s growth and project execution.

Eric’s work spans the development, acquisition, construction and ongoing administration of renewable-energy projects, as well as broader corporate matters across the CIG platform. He advises on project and portfolio acquisitions, joint ventures, development-services arrangements, EPC and project-management agreements, equipment and material procurement, supply and installation contracts, ground leases and title matters, consulting agreements, confidentiality arrangements and other strategic commercial relationships.
 
Eric also counsels internal teams on contract administration, payment and performance issues, contractual notices, regulatory submissions, entity and KYC matters and transaction-related disputes. He coordinates closely with CIG’s development, construction, finance, commercial and executive teams, as well as counterparties, technical advisers and outside counsel. His approach combines rigorous legal analysis with a practical understanding of project execution, allowing him to identify material risks, communicate them clearly and help move complex matters toward resolution.
 
Before joining CIG, Eric practiced in the Miami office of K&L Gates LLP, where he represented public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, capital-markets offerings, SEC reporting, corporate governance and complex commercial matters. He served in lead and principal associate roles on acquisitions, internal reorganizations, registered offerings, shelf registrations, PIPE and equity-line transactions and other corporate matters. His work included negotiating principal transaction documents, leading diligence and disclosure workstreams, advising management teams and boards, and managing transactions from initial structuring through signing and closing.
 
Eric earned his J.D. from William & Mary Law School and his B.A. in Political Science from West Virginia University. He is admitted to practice law in Florida.

Chief Systems Officer

Craig Maccubbin is an accomplished executive leader with over 27 years of experience serving as a CIO, CTO, and CSO.

Throughout his career, Craig has built a strong reputation for strategic focus, reliable execution, and high integrity across multiple high-growth ventures. A credible voice in the boardroom, he brings a proven track record of leading transformation and growth across global teams.

Craig’s experience spans the airline, travel and hospitality, digital agency, retail, entertainment, and consulting sectors, giving him a broad perspective on leading technology organizations. He has held senior executive leadership roles at Southwest Airlines, WestJet Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines, as well as Blockbuster, Black Entertainment Television (BET), LasVegas.com, and Zeta Interactive. In addition, he has advised many of the world’s top brands on the effective use of technology, including Time Inc., Mattel, American Express, Caesars Entertainment, JPMorgan Chase, Verizon, Mercedes-Benz, and Nationwide Insurance, among others.

Craig is an authentic leader who inspires action while remaining grounded in delivering value through digital and AI-forward strategies. Under his leadership, companies have achieved high growth, entered new markets, successfully navigated IPOs, completed mergers, and executed private equity transactions.

Toubee Moua

Finance Associate

Toubee Moua is a renewable energy professional specializing in solar development, project evaluation, and strategic business relationships. With a background spanning financial underwriting, lending, sales, and economics, he brings a disciplined approach to identifying opportunities, managing risk, and supporting the successful development of utility-scale energy projects.

At CIG Energy, Toubee works alongside project stakeholders to advance renewable energy initiatives from early-stage development through execution.  His diverse professional experience enables him to bridge technical, financial, and commercial perspectives while maintaining a strong focus on long-term project success.
